Decision:
That the Committee welcomes the success of TAF as part of Flintshire’s
commitment to develop and deliver effective early intervention services.
Minutes:
The Chief Officer (Social Services) introduced a report to provide an update on the current role of Team Around the Family (TAF) within Social Services and the impact of the Social Services and Well-Being Act 2014 on the early intervention agenda. He provided background information and introduced Rhiannon Edwards, Team Around the Family Co-ordinator, and invited her to present the report.
The Team around the Family Co-ordinator explained that the report provided an overview of TAF and the TAF processes within the wider early intervention agenda. It focussed on the successes and challenges of the project, with some relevant case studies, to show the role of TAF in supporting vulnerable families in Flintshire. The report also explained the integral role of TAF in successfully delivering the ‘Information, Advice and Assistance’ element of the Social Services and Well-Being Act as well as responding to the CCSIW’s recent recommendation to further develop the early intervention services. The Team around the Family Co-ordinator reported on the main considerations as detailed in the report.
Members congratulated Officers and expressed support for the integral role and work of the TAF project in providing effective long term early intervention services to engage and support both individual and family needs.
RESOLVED:
That the Committee welcomes the success of TAF as part of Flintshire’s
commitment to develop and deliver effective early intervention services.
